Photography, People & Me

Photography combines my fascination with people and my passion for making documentary images with social emphases.

I prefer photographing people, especially those of different cultures, capturing personality and character in black and white images.  All my life I have been interested in social issues: e.g. welfare, single mothers, the homeless, desegregation, or other humanitarian issues.

As I look back, I think this interest in diverse peoples with different values stems from my cultural heritage.  This heritage emphasizes acceptance and appreciation of others.   I celebrate diversity — in my photographs and in my life.
